My own anecdote, the thing that convinced me they were doing this despite everyone telling me that they weren’t, is when my search bar auto-completed the letters “pro” to “prolapsed urethra” after a particularly exciting day in the clinic. I had never typed those words, but said them a lot that day.

Living up to your heroes is hard, right? I could write about Lain Iwakura[1][2] or Roxy Epoxy or Donna Haraway... But I don't want to read about them from... well from me. But, that's what anonymity is for. Be a hero by destroying the self, and being something else (eg reverse engineering firmware)
