Is this pedantry? Maybe. On the other hand using terms of art with unintuitive meanings incorrectly isn't really a great sign for someone who then uses more terms of art with subtle meanings to recommend you inject a bunch of lyophilized powders and interpret your own blood work.

Could you reduce this by laying a direct/express cable where instead of having to have a repeater route the traffic, you boost the signal via lasing? (like the way you boost the output of a fiber laser by having the fiber be excited externally in several loops)

It's not speed of light, (east to west is like 10 ms), so is the latency per mile coming from repeaters having having to think about repeating/amplifying the signal along the way?

If you use a history-tape-style reversible Turing, with the tape being only the cpu cache, you should get most of the energy benefits without having to deal with growing history, right? (bc presumably you would allow the tape to unwrite itself any time the cache is cleared/invalidated/etc)

This is one of the more legitimate use cases for an LLM. (like a bare one, not a chat agent) You can characterize the shared latent space and operate there directly, and several models have a latent space that is a proper measure space so it's really well behaved.

The information most likely isn't in the image model. Promptable image models have a language model duct taped to them, which allows for the prompting. (The two have a partially shared embedding space)
The more well integrated the spaces, the less you get weird text fuckups like that.

Chat models just have weird interactions with expected generated output length and also need to keep everything in context which tends to roll and then give up (some exceptions for eg Gemini which has very long context lengths)
