in general the portrayal of sex (esp. heterosexual sex) as something that HAS to happen in a romantic relationship, that everyone HAS to want, is something that has always struck me as odd and misogynystic. so often, it's the woman who has to "get over" her reservations around sex.

Denji's "mistake" is that he fails to consider the implications of his actions in the present and refuses to look back and reflect on the consequences of the actions he has taken in past. Foresight and Hindsight.
