Speed kills, but people like to drive fast!

Stick to the limit and make full stops (no rolling), just watch how impatient other drivers get with you

Wishing drivers would slow down isn’t going to to work, especially as electric vehicles provide more torque. We need intelligent speed limiters, stat

1,500+ Californians die from speeding every year, including kids walking to school.

DC, VA & WA now require in-car speed limiters for reckless drivers.

EU & US safety agencies support speed limiters.

CA, what are we waiting for?

American children spend significant portions of their early developmental years staring at the interior ceilings of cars and tablet screens.

It’s one of car dependency’s many negative outcomes.

Ulloa St & Lenox Way transit stop this morning (2025-05-23)

Note: the only bollards present are protecting the library book return, not the people waiting for transit.

Earlier this week, SFMTA staff shared the first month of data collected by SF’s new speed camera program.

The data reflects what many of us have been feeling intensely: dangerous speeding is out of control on our streets and a daily threat to our safety.

I spoke at SF City Hall yesterday about street safety, something I care deeply about as a parent.

🚗 48% of cars speed on our block
😡 3 vehicles clocked over 50 mph
🚸 90% of pedestrians hit at 50 mph will be killed

More soon on how to set up a radar sensor on your street.

We went to City Hall today to shine a light on the fact that SF has no traffic safety policy or plan.

We delivered a letter to Mayor @danielluriesf.bsky.social asking for a new #VisionZeroSF policy by July 30 & a new plan by Sept. 30.

I ran a test on 2023-04-16 which I recorded (below).

I saw one post from a friend and then **57** sponsored posts / ads before another post from a friend.

Facebook absolutely shows more ads than friends and family content, here’s a receipt:

This morning, students at McCoppin Elementary School helped the @sfmta.com make an intersection by their school safer with daylighting! ☀️

Daylighting is a simple solution that prevents 1 in 3 traffic crashes by ensuring clear sightlines at intersections – and all it takes is red paint! 🎨

I’m gamify learning Golang by solving Project Euler puzzles.

The most painful part so far has been clearing my progress from 15 years ago when I went through the puzzles in Mathematica.

This is how far I got last time before moving on to other things:

What if we agreed that children have the right to walk and bike to school safely? What would your city look like?

Over 25m miles Waymo insurance claims for property damage occur at a rate of 0.36 per million miles, versus 3.08 for human drivers.

Humans cause property damage at ~8.5x the rate of Waymos.

How long until insurance premiums reflect the added risk of having a human behind the wheel? Before 2030?
