Since the wealthy are going to clean up buying stocks at a low, why should they get tax cuts too? Isn't one or the other enough?

If the grand plan was to privatize social security and have people invest in the stock market instead, they're not doing a great job showing that's viable.

Newly updated maps show how much of California is in a high fire zone. It's time to rethink zoning in these areas, from the state level to the local level.

New fire maps put nearly 4 million Californians in hazardous zones
With a few notable areas where the orange and red tide receded, like the hills above Berkeley and Oakland, territory deemed “high” or “very high” hazard exploded across the state, increasing by 168% s...

If the roles were reversed, the Republicans would absolutely let the government shut down rather than vote for a budget they didn't like. They would spin it as protecting the American people from radical left policies. The senate Democrats should do the same of they want to win in the midterms.

So Trump just announced an executive order that says *only* the president and the attorney general can speak to what the law is. Um, supreme court, you just going to take that?

I'm not saying I believe musk has found millions of social security recipients between the ages of 100 and 150. But could that not be explained by survivor benefits which pass to spouses and children when someone dies? I assume the original beneficiary would still be in the database.

The media needs to stop asking "what happens if Trump decides to ignore court orders" followed by "apparently nothing" because he controls the justice department that would have to enforce court orders. They are just telling him what to do!

Well thank God Trump is bringing back plastic straws because that was definitely my number one issue in the last election.

All CIA employees have been offered a buyout. Because that won't cause any security problems here in America.
February 5, 2025 at 3:34 AM
Well it appears all hope for a two-state solution just died. I will never understand how any progressives thought Trump was going to be better on that issue than Kamala.

So I guess Sean Duffy is qualified to be head of transportation because he was on Road Rules?

So Trump says we don't know that air traffic control made any mistakes, but he's sure that DEI hiring was the reason for the crash. Because according to JD Vance, thousands of qualified people who wanted to be air traffic controllers we turned away because of the color of their skin. Sources please.

Today officials will tell us that air travel is still extremely safe. That's because they only look at fatal crashes. My family was on a flight several years ago that almost had to crash land in the pacific ocean because an engine failed. No media coverage. They don't talk about those incidents.

Democratic senators voting for Trump's nominees means they will be directly responsible for the actions the administration takes. We will remember come next elections.

A huge loss. I'm so grateful for all she did.
A heartbreak

Shortly after Sandy Hook i wrote a song about our country's inability to talk about gun violence. I'm not much of a performer, but I think the song still holds up really well. I'd love for someone to take it and make it into what I'm not able to. #SoundCloud

I’m going to say something bold here and publicly state that “murder is not the way to solve national problems” but suffering from chronic debilitating pain seems to be a much more logical reason for someone to go apeshit than women being in Star Wars

Who knew the one thing which could unite Americans was media companies asking them to feel sympathy for a man who made millions off denying regular people necessary medical care.

Is there a psychoanalytic read for the impetus, seemingly ubiquitous among the US pundit class, to automatically exonerate those on the right from any responsibility for their decisions, viewing them as somehow perpetually besieged and behaving in reaction to a morally oppressive left?

If one wanted Kash Patel in your government, he would have been a much better pick for CIA or DIA based on his background. But that would require thinking about how well people could serve OUR country, not Russia.
