DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

As always, everyone watch the @lindsayellis.bsky.social

Went to a 2yo's birthday party and everyone got sucked into watching bluey (the two year old was the only kid lol)

Working at a children's museum it feels so obvious that what this show is doing is family learning

Lindsay Ellis — Bluey Adults
Bluey was the most streamed TV show of 2024, but it was not because of The Children.

Next time a Republican whines when they get called a fascist, just remind them that Trump says he doesn't mind the label!
Q: Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?

MAMDANI: I've spoken about--

TRUMP: That's okay. You can just say yes. I don't mind.

this was not intentional, but makes me super happy: like, the writer I hoped to grow into when I was young was somebody I envisioned as writing about flowers on multiple continents
The mountain goats have explored flowers across 3 continents now

Connections like this are stitches in the fabric of a story. Pull them too tight and you leave no room to weave more of the fabric
The paradox of modern superhero comics is that evoking details from somewhere else - having a couple Green Lanterns show up in Batman, for instance - has started to make the world feel smaller, not bigger

Because we've seen so many of these corners so many times, they've started to choke out wonder

In The Heat of the Night is incredible. Its reputation as a film about race betrays how naturally it builds itself. It doesn't feel like a constructed story, but a life of the characters. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (also 5/5) is a constructed play. Heat tells you this is life.

2nd Nov. 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the ongoing human presence off-world.

That is, humans have continuously occupied the ISS for exactly 25 years today.

So if you're <= 24 years old, you've never lived in a world where humans were *only* terrestrial-based.

One time in elementary school I had a substitute teacher who recently came back from a trip to europe and showed us a picture of David but made sticky note shorts. I was 7 and offended, it's censoring the art!
