I really enjoyed being with my dog at Christmas this year. She's such a blessing.

Put together a nice Christmas dinner. Forgot to save time to make a gravy for the porchetta but it was good nonetheless.

Living abroad is tough during a holiday such as Thanksgiving. For me as a teacher, I never have time off during this week. So I must live vicariously through the turkey pics of friends and family. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

As I'm sure it's the case at many places in the U.S., apparently Margraten, the American Cemetery in the Netherlands has removed two panels highlighting the contributions and experiences of black soldiers during WWII. Check out this link and use Google translate. www.bnnvara.nl/joop/artikel...

One of the joys I experience of adulting in my 40s, is coming home after an evening out and farting my bed into oblivion. There are few things in life which can bring that kind of relief.

Just a reminder that many animal shelters also have a “pet food pantry” for people in need. And many food pantries will also accept pet food donations.
Some people may now need to redirect pet-food funds towards their own needs or choose to go hungry in order to ensure their pets do not.

This asshat (pun intended) kept holding his hat and said: Sorry, sometimes there are powerful gusts. No shit, you're reporting on a category five hurricane. Take the damn hat off.

My nephew and his girlfriend were in Europe briefly and stopped by to visit us. Scout loved the extra attention and was sad to see them go. (Me too!)

Do you ever hop on here with an idea and think, is this interesting enough to share with the internet? Sad isn't it? We think we must be funny and interesting all the time. How many of us actually are? I've got plenty of folks I love who have complete misses sometimes, myself included.

My sweet Scout, hanging out with me while I have my morning coffee. Serious case of the Mondays. Thankful for this dog to keep me sane. #dogsofbluesky

This has been in our pantry for awhile now. I think it came in a Christmas gift basket from my husband's work or something. What's fascinating is it's not even brand-name Spam. It's "flesh." No wonder people chose English over German. It really is prettier.

Received a giant chocolate bar from a student for helping him achieve his goals. Am truly struggling to not eat it all myself. I have shared it with my husband, and I usually just give it up to him. But there's some kind of f-it all feeling in my body right now as a response to all the shitty news.

"Hoist by his own petard". (Hamlet)

The phrase's meaning is that a bomb-maker is blown ("hoist", the past tense of "hoise") off the ground by his own bomb ("petard"), and indicates an ironic reversal or poetic justice.

Teachers: I'm trying to find a simple weekly video news/info resource for students at school (English as a foreign language) We used to use BBC Newsround but it's unavailable in Holland now. I can't find anything similar through PBS. For ages 12-15. #teaching #English #esl #news
