The Elwha River is a triumph of restoration, with salmon returning after over a century's absence since major dam removals 12 years ago. The spill is on a tributary 1.5 miles from the river's main stem.

A fuel tanker crashed off Highway 101 on Friday and began leaking fuel into a major tributary for salmon, trout and the water supply for Port Angeles. It's a pretty devastating spill.

The whole bill just needs to be thrown out, but I’m still fighting to make sure Medicaid Home and Community Based Services are not cut or reduced — because seniors and people with disabilities deserve to the chance to live independently and with dignity.
