Today vs early summer #gardening

Just deleted the Twitter app, earlier than I planned but I can’t be on there given the owner’s attack on Britain. I’m waving goodbye to 30,000 followers which is terrifying for my work as a writer and my nature activism but it’s the right thing to do.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if all you accomplish this weekend is reading a riveting novel cover-to-cover whilst drinking multiple kettles of tea and consuming a scandalous amount of croissants, then you will have accomplished more than enough.

I’m doing these quick little watercolour sketches these days, trying to do them each day. They’re not finished paintings, or even attempting to be accurate, just a daily practice of mark making and in a way, a kind of meditation. It’s fun.
