The Camden County Police Department is showing what community policing should look like. Social workers are now riding alongside officers to address mental health crises, homelessness, and emergencies related to substance use disorder. And it's working. Crisis calls are down 40% since last year.

Social workers are teaming up with Camden County police in Camden to address the city's mental and social service needs. It's part of the city's "guardian" approach to policing.
