It gives me everything I need in an IDE (autocomplete, intellisense, test runner, debugging) and nothing I don't (GUI-based data model editing, managing a weird fucking XML file with build settings)

It can be as simple or complex as you want it to be thanks to a truly excellent extension interface and ecosystem. It's _exactly_ what I need it to be, and I love that about it.

Like look, you're not going to compete with Cursor, just let stuff like Cline and Roo handle the agent experience and focus on making a fantastic editor. This shouldn't be rocket science. You did it for years before this industry caught a mind virus
