Christians are much happier to care about antisemitism when they get to blame it all on Muslims to avoid grappling with their own history.

May every single human being on this planet be safe.

May every single person be protected from harm.

May we bring into being a time in which we are all free from those who do evil— together, speedily and in our days.

I spoke to a dozen of activists inside Iran. They have one thing in common: They oppose the Israeli attacks and they want the war to stop.

Life hack: there is no way to make people love you by bombing them, and if they did love you bombing them will fix that.

Because, you see, there's no such thing as an attack on someone's life so legitimate that they say ‘yes, I had that coming, thank you, father.’

We are trapped between people who say, "Fighting antisemitism means denying verified facts about IDF war crimes" and people who say, "All concerns about antisemitism are a right-wing psyop to cover up the destruction of Palestine." I refuse to accept either choice.

The thing a lot of people fail to understand is that it’s not just the Shoah, but *centuries* of global persecution and routine ethnic cleansing that has made Jews Like This™️

The stories we tell ourselves are powerful. On Passover, Jewish people around the world tell the story of liberation, of an escape from servitude to freedom, from bitter darkness to the light. (1/7)

For the better part of the last decade, a great many people have tried really hard to make Donald Trump make sense in some broader political and historical context. But at the end of the day he's exactly what he appears to be: a rich psycho who's failed at everything in life except self-promotion.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

This is what war on Palestinian identity looks like. On Sunday, Israeli police raided the Educational Bookshop in East Jerusalem, an iconic bookstore and cultural hub that sells books on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the history of Jerusalem, run by Mahmoud and Ahmad Muna.

Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the sacred memory of the six million Jews and millions of other victims murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators during the Holocaust.

Remembering and learning from the past is not about guilt. No one is guilty of anything other than their own sins, but we are all responsible for making things better and avoiding repetition of past wrongs.
Germans overwhelmingly understand that the point of memory culture isn’t to feel guilty, but to learn from the past and to take responsibility for a better society.

The AfD, which Elon Musk supports, seeks to revive dark elements of the past. By enabling them, he shares in their guilt.
