People ask me why I dislike the Super Bowl so much. And indeed why I dislike the NFL so much. This post speaks a lot to my personal experience having worked on two Super Bowls and dealt with sports politics in San Diego most of my life.
Every time you see a “New Orleans strong” commercial remember that, in honor of the Super Bowl, the city rounded up their homeless population, forced them onto busses under threat of arrest, and piled them into an unheated warehouse at a cost of $17.5M. $17.5M that could have been spent on housing.
