I assume that to be challenging, a good solo mode should also include the possibility of you not doing well, right? Like, some solitaire games are about beating the puzzle, others about achieving a good score, but in some there is the possibility that you just fail.

It turns out that if you get reasonably good at Bolted! you can absolutely annihilate all previously known scoring records (53 points in one game, scored by me, the creator of the game, testing a solo mode against an automated player who did not play very well).

Diving back into a total restructuring of the Bolted! rulebook. My mind is spinning from reading the HOT STREAK rulebook, which spends an astonishing 13 (!) pages on one-sentence flavor explanations before getting to the setup, and also devotes 6 pages to "Life Outcomes" based on your ending score
