Saw one complaining about the "you have to download it anyway" Switch 2 dummy cartridges that referred to them as "the switch 2's most unpopular fan antagonistic decision" and the actual referenced data point was a study that they're selling tons of them. Nobody actually cares!

Man this is a great example of a thing that I've really been seeing a lot lately which I'd call "citation needed" fandom articles. Where some vaguely related factual statement becomes a jumping off point for complaining about a personal hobbyhorse "everybody agrees" about.

understanding how things work is important. understanding the consequences of our choices is important. knowing why things *don't* or *can't* work is important. knowing how to set realistic expectations and deliver on them is important. all of this is important everywhere, not just in politics.
