just blurted out in class "yes, you have to cite where you got your info. in a world in which lying loudly is the only thing that seems to get rewarded, citing your sources is an act of resistance" and folks, I really believe that.

The Emperors New Clothes, taught me great lessons as a child. Never listen to Con men and Swindlers or the people that fell for them, that hide their embarrassment with lies.
The child in the story just spoke truth, when everyone else went along with the person in power.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.
They run them bc people react to them the most.
If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.
It’s not easy and takes constant practice!
