I want to ask more questions about problems like this, specifically as it relates to the debris monitoring and how monitoring companies guides the work debris haulers do.
Post disaster cleanup goes too far : contractors in some regions cleared live trees still rooted in the ground, logs that were in place well before the storm, and other natural features of the habitat that may not have posed a risk to public safety.

The government stepped in to clean up a disaster in North Carolina. Then they created another one.
Debris removal after Hurricane Helene did more damage to the environment than the storm itself in some parts of the state, scientists claim.

I support this petition! As someone who grew up in and around Cold Water Creek, I’m deeply aware of the existing hazards in the area and the proposed data center will cause more issues. Protect the land and people first!

China’s building the Medog Mega Dam for about $180 billion. When complete it will provide enough power for 300 million homes.

A fraction DOD annual DOD budget and ample power output needed to power every home in America.

Let that sink in the next time you think about what waste fraud and abuse.

That photo's from this article on broader trend of Silicon Valley turning all that AI hype into lucrative Pentagon contracts.

"Meta, Google and OpenAI, which once had language in their corporate policies banning the use of artificial intelligence in weapons, have removed such wording." 4/4 🎁 link:

I think we should all be talking a lot more about tech billionaire fascism and their creepy Network state agenda.

Both as a strategy to build a broader popular front against fascism and a way to drive wedges between different factions in MAGA. More at:

Not downplaying the need for alerts in my comment on this. Just sorta reminds me about how sensitive we’ve become with easy data access these days.
A few severe storms capable of damaging winds are possible this afternoon across the Mid-Atlantic region. Other severe wind and hail producing storms are also possible across the central/northern High Plains. Visit weather.gov for the latest, local forecast.

I wish the paper authors would have considered hydrochloric acid as a more powerful washing solution for the Cybertruck.

However, it's more definitive evidence that lemon juice is effective for cleaning a Cybertruck.
Here’s the paper from (MIT) on Salt, Lemon, and Sand: An Unconventional Approach to Preserving the Finish of Tesla Cybertrucks. It’s uploaded to Drive so anyone can view it.

That said, I obviously can't recommend this neat little recipe card it generated, in large part due to not owning a Cybertruck (now, or ever).

Stay safe out there.

Not All White Men Were Free 🇺🇸📜

While researching old documents from my hometown of Florissant, Missouri, I found something surprising. A city charter from 1857 listed voting rights for “free white male citizens.” That raised a question I’d never thought to ask…

Happy Sunday Earth! Ever thought about WHY on avg. men fight for dominance while women fight for stability? Men overproduce while women have limited supplies. 🙂

Maybe we didn’t trade discipline for progress - maybe we traded it for paperwork, pills, and passive parenting.

Something’s been bothering me lately. We say we’re more connected than ever, but I look around and most folks don’t even know their neighbors names. We rely on distant systems and tax dollars to “help communities” instead of being part of one. Wasn’t it supposed to be the other way around?

Everyone grows up to become something. A future president is a child today. But legalization?

Even if we round up to $12 billion/year, that’s:
About 0.035% of the current national debt
Less than 0.25% of total annual federal spending
Not even enough to cover a week of Medicare or Social Security
I've been saying for a few years now that the Young Ones are going to right the ship and legalizing weed would dramatically reduce the national debt. Hope I'm around to see that tree to bear fruit

There is too much confusion spinning around these days. People disconnected from realities in their own neighborhoods more than ever before. Everyone blaming the next person. Nobody wants hard truth, just easy instant gratification.
