we need our little dramas and our little fights! they're compelling! I just don't want to be told that I deserve to die over and over again by worse versions of my dad.

Doh! Probably should have done that math myself before skeeting it as a question. Thanks @robsandia.bsky.social!

Well, annual federal budget is over $6 trillion. Assuming a consistent spend rate, 0ing both would only buy us about a month of normal operations, and then we would be right back where we are, but without some assets that are helpful in other kinds of emergencies.

Bonus points: cheaper gas and electronics (because gold components).

That’s good and bad. It’s good that the WNBA is getting a regular TV slot. It’s bad that it’s not one of the networks usually associated with sports. Not trying to dis your employer, but ION isn’t exactly synonymous with sports coverage. 🙁 I hope that changes…

No diss taken. In my mind, Ion is pretty much a place for cop show reruns. At least right now. But there’s a lot you can do with a national network.

Just a plug for my employer’s new venture: Friday Night Spotlight prime time WNBA games over broadcast TV. https://www.ionwnba.com (Sorry for the self-promotional post, but I’m kinda excited that Scripps/Ion is doing this. Here’s hoping we get NWSL…)
Watch WNBA games Friday nights on ION
Don't miss out on the most exciting WNBA games of the week! Watch WNBA games every Friday night on ION, available on broadcast and streaming!

It’s also a result of public policy to keep the cost per calorie of food affordable as real incomes decline. https://www.latimes.com/opinion/la-xpm-2012-jun-27-la-ol-nixon-obesity-epidemic-corn-20120627-story.html

I salute you. I’ve managed to stay off for quite some time … Largely because I never put it on my recently acquired work phone/daily driver. But deleting? That’s strength.

Reminded of a few things:
- A few of the folks at my grad wore nothing at all under their robes.
- We did often crossdressing days for spirit week. No admin nor student balked.
I don't know if that's more a difference of time (90s-00s) or place (Seattle-area,) but it sure feels like a regression.

Perhaps it differences with medium and case. But I don’t think you can look at the fascination with Gabby Petito or Casey Anthony and see a lot of deep introspection.
