We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.

Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

Concept Artists Say Generative AI References Only Make Their Jobs Harder
“The ‘early ideation stages’, when worlds are being fleshed out by writers and artists, are literally crucial to the development of a game’s vision,” said one artist.

I reached out to The White House and asked about its use of AI-generated Halo imagery. White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai just responded to me, and it's insane.

Ziff Davis and IGN routinely decide that work done by our laid off colleagues is not important. But inevitably, that crucial work falls onto those who remain.

Not this time. Not anymore.

While still great, S2 of #tLoU has some unforced errors. The 7 episode season felt rushed, too much tell and not enough show of just about everything, which ties into some complaints about clunky dialogue that was too on the nose. Still very good tv, but I’m cooler this season than I was on S1.

I put up one bird feeder and now my backyard is a goddamn aviary.
At one point there were 19+ birds all around our yard and I just had to stop counting.

Oh and two squirrels that keep climbing the feeder and falling. Here’s one sunbathing.

The pitch is never that AI will fold the laundry for us, it's always that AI will remove the good stuff from our lives. Picking a birthday present for my kid isn't a box I check, it's something I want to do, and six months later when that's the stuffy she sleeps with I get to feel good about that.

Nintendo is embodying the sort of greed that inspired Greek tragedies. 👀
Absolutely insane costs for standard visual upgrades; no one I know who would normally want a switch 2 has plans to get one anytime soon.
'The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild' Nintendo Switch 2 Edition wont come with the DLC content.

- One Two Switch spiritual sequel
- Pikmin 5 tease with water sparkling and stuff, no year
- Spend way too long on BotW

Cat Quest III unironically one of the best games I’ve played so far this year, wish I’d gotten to it sooner. Platinum trophy in one day, 7 hour experience; devs understand the genres they’re playing in incredibly well and have clearly worked hard at combat and world design. Just a ton of fun!
