At the same time ignoring the buyout feels like giving up prematurely without even trying to enact change. The Sims is worthless without us, the players. And creators do a lot of heavy lifting for EA as well, there's no denying that.
I've been thinking a lot about this and while I'm not ready to see it all burn down and abandon the game, I also don't feel right doing nothing. So for me:
❌ No more money goes to EA
❌ Unsubbed from official Sims accounts, YT, and Discord
❌ Will not engage with official or sponsored EA content

Satch confirming that social blade is pretty much accurate on the higher end in terms of how much sims yt actually makes. Seems like lilsimsie is probably the only simmer multi-millionaire. Not sure what's going on with Deli's channel, but if true it makes sense why she stayed in the CN now.

This statement is damage control and deflecting: we know the sims will not change and they will not retroactively change anything. We just don't want to give money to EA's new owners, and creators, understandably, don't want to promote their games to make them richer. It's two different things.

I'm genuinely very impressed with James and Plumbella. I hope more will follow. The EACN has not been good for the game and the community in the recent years for many reasons. Seeing big creators make moves like this gives me hope for the future of the franchise!

I'm cooked because this means I currently have Lauma without Nefer, and Skirk without Escoffier and Escoffier is supposed to rerun next patch so if I keep grinding for Nefer I may not have enough for Escoffier. Not to mention Durin. Help me I'm poor 😭

I'm gonna be real with you. I don't watch Inzoi, ACNH, SV, or any other non-sims content from sims youtubers. I won't watch Paralives content either. I don't consider myself a cozy gamer or a life simulation gamer. I have zero interest in life-sims outside of The Sims. For me, The Sims is a category
