At the same time ignoring the buyout feels like giving up prematurely without even trying to enact change. The Sims is worthless without us, the players. And creators do a lot of heavy lifting for EA as well, there's no denying that.
I've been thinking a lot about this and while I'm not ready to see it all burn down and abandon the game, I also don't feel right doing nothing. So for me:
❌ No more money goes to EA
❌ Unsubbed from official Sims accounts, YT, and Discord
❌ Will not engage with official or sponsored EA content

Getting back with my boy Jay after a year... maybe i took a long nap ._. anyways! Here are his new-ish goals:
- get better at streaming
- BUT keep touching some grass pls
- find teammates with no lag
- stop skipping geekcon

No but fr, I was never a Spongebob kid so this makes me feel nothing. That said, it doesn't make me mad either. Batuu is still the worst ad-pack they've ever done and the biggest audience missmatch.

This statement is damage control and deflecting: we know the sims will not change and they will not retroactively change anything. We just don't want to give money to EA's new owners, and creators, understandably, don't want to promote their games to make them richer. It's two different things.
