Through Week 14, there are 23 teams in Super Bowl contention—the fewest with 4 weeks to play in 20 years (2005, also 23). In the NFC, 11 teams remain in playoff contention which is the fewest in that conference with 4 weeks to go since 2002 (also 11).

Seriously, for a lot of cis men and women their hair or lack thereof says a lot about how one performs gender, what makes folks feel themselves.

And the more we normalize calling it 'gender-affirming care', the more we highlight the common cause we have with trans folks.

My most woke opinion?

Not only should gender-affirming care be universally accessible and as free as possible - what worth does a society have when it cares naught for its people - but so many treatments cis folks seek out ARE gender-affirming care.

The big one for me? Hair loss treatments.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

the democratic party’s basic problem is it has almost no control over how its message reaches the ears of voters, especially outside of presidential election years. but rather than devote serious time, attention and cash to that problem its consultants and pundits want to fight factional battles

Hey, look.

From Trump's own mouth, the very same point I've been making for weeks: Republicans don't need Democratic votes to end the shutdown. They could reopen the government whenever they want.

I love when the dipshit kneecaps Republican messaging.

Nothing remotely resembling an insurrection is happening anywhere in the country. Any violence associated with protest has been isolated, mild, and, in nearly every case, instigated by federal law enforcement. If we let Trump get away with calling dissent an insurrection, our republic is over.

Yeah! If they knew LSSC was not as profitable as it was pre-Covid why didn't they use the 16 million they gave to Trump's "library🙄" to shore up the award winning, consistently highest rated late night talk show on THEIR network instead of that orange sack of transfats?

The inability to have unqualified appreciation for anything is the defining characteristic of the left, and I love it...it's great, I think things are complicated. But I don't have unqualified appreciation for that instinct...I think it can also be harmful.

SO FUCK YEAH CONSTITUTION. NO KINGS.

What if...get this...the constitution kinda /kicks ass/. And if your instinctual response to that is to qualify that with a bunch of historical context...yeah, me too...but I'm going to ignore that instinct because I DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN AN AUTOCRACY SO I'M JUST GONNA BE A CONSTITUTION HYPE MAN RN.

Don't just say it's unconstitutional, remind people that the constitution is full of very good ideas designed to prevent authoritarianism, and most people who want to ignore it want that specifically because they are authoritarian.

I'm probably gonna be the only person to make this comparison, but on a thematic level, what Benson Boone attempted with 'Beautiful Things', the new Perfume Genius album addresses way more effectively.

Proof these themes CAN work from someone who doesn't need backflips to distract from his music.

The U.S. spent over $997 BILLION on the Pentagon in 2024.

That's over a THIRD of the entire world’s military spending.

Crazy that we have more than enough money to throw at our bloated war machine but not enough to provide health care or affordable housing.

Our system is broken.
