Pondering and sharing the world's grief over Pope Francis's passing, I'm reminded of Andrew Sullivan's comment that many non-Catholics were blown away by Francis because they hadn't intimately seen a genuine Christian before.

Me in a car on 395: God this sucks. Worst part of my day.

Me on an ebike: how lucky am I? My commute is the best part of my day!

Most annoying characters in a children’s television show:
1. Gobby (Spidey and friends)
2. Rudy (Sesame Street)

An E-Bike Transformed My Family’s Life — The Atlantic
Getting around on one might be a bit slower than in a car, but it’s also so much richer.

Other than Kieran Culkin winning an Oscar for playing himself, I liked the show.
Anora is a beautiful movie. That a story that robust can be completely conveyed in 2 hours is why I lack the patience for prestige TV.

I really hate when they go to the booth and its a green screen of an empty Bourbon St with the crowd muted.

The best part about beating the pub trivia champs from 9 other DC-area bars and winning the 2024 Supercup was seeing our enemies driven before us and hearing the lamentations of their women.

Watched Anora last night. 10/10. No notes. Just a perfect story.

That’s a Mahomes call for a hit on a running back that was, at most, 0.02 seconds late.

Just watched a ~ 5’8 female @dcpolicedept.bsky.social officer chase down and tackle a 6’4 guy outside the Hechinger mall Ross. I was on a run at the time. Granted I was on mile 5, but she blew by me at double pace. It was freakishly athletic. Very impressive.

It's weird and bad that Oregon has to play Ohio State instead of Arizona State or Boise State. I've always thought in situations like this the top seed should get to choose their opponent. That's a better reward for earning the higher seed, plus it adds bulletin board material and drama.

Took the kids to puppet theatre this morning. Very French, very existential, very funny. Easily the best and most adult-friendly show I’ve ever taken them to. Can’t recommend it enough. www.alexandolmsted.com/happy-birthd...

One of my favorite parts of the modern American economy is the annual call to your internet service provider where you haggle with them and threaten to switch until they eventually drop like $25/month.

Mikal Bridges played 47 minutes tonight. The Knicks won by 24. Thibs is gonna play those guys right into a coffin.

A friend just informed me that United Healthcare's been making large crypto payments to ransomeware gangs all year, gotta wonder if that's related to it's CEO getting assassinated
UnitedHealth says Change Healthcare cyberattack cost it $872 million
The $872 million most likely excludes any amount UnitedHealth may have paid to hackers in ransom.

Ohio State will get it back with a minute to go and no timeouts needing a field goal.
The perfect opportunity for Ryan Day to establish the run game.
