I have been thinking a lot about the video of a Black woman in active labor, in distress, being actively ignored by a white nurse.

I've also been thinking a lot about both vicarious trauma and intergenerational trauma - the patient's mom was recording her own daughter being treated violently.

White people who have spent decades thinking “Born in the USA” is patriotic and “Every Breath You Take” is a great wedding song are suddenly very concerned about not being able to understand lyrics to some songs at the Super Bowl halftime show.

I’m kind of speechless with this one. I can’t imagine the kind of person who continues to make the argument that it doesn’t count as real starvation if the kids were already sick.

Lastly calling for repeat RCTs in adolescents for updated boosters is a disingenuous straw man argument. Repeating RCTs in rare adverse event detection is impractical and unethical especially for an effective vaccine. That’s why post-marketing surveillance (VAERS, V-safe, VSD, etc.) exists!

These cuts mean:
- Thousands dying daily from TB, HIV, Malaria, avoidable deaths!
- Devastation to global pandemic surveillance making certain next pandemic will come soon.
- Children going hungry in war torn zones
Human lives are not "waste".
This is mass murder!

Rep Zephyr’s speech flips 13 GOPs, trans bills die in Montana

Trans people have been scapegoated so effectively (among older people) that we're flooded with models of how to hate.

But when people hear the love behind why we stand up for each other, we win.

Bravo, @zoandbehold.bsky.social!

This is bigotry front and center on a government website
I present to you all the notice that now is displayed on the CDC HIV prevention page.
Again - In these times, find a healthcare provider you trust, who follows evidence based practice grounded in science. Follow trusted sources of information.

It's all gone. They've taken down all the CDC datasets from data.cdc.gov

Data that's critical for public health & research. Data paid for by citizens. That the government now censors.

1/ The danger of a single story isn’t that it’s untrue, it’s that it’s incomplete. When countries reliant on US aid are seen as “undeserving beggars,” it erases their rich histories, resilience, and humanity, reducing complex societies to one narrative of need.
