The Trump administration is scrubbing the CDC’s website of documents on reproductive rights issues, sexual health, intimate partner violence, and more.

I'm trying to save them.

You can find the deleted docs at cdcguidelines.com - I'll be adding more over the weekend.

Will water soon be a marketable commodity or a priceless public good? There’s a scene in the film Mad Max: Fury Road where the evil ruler Immortan Joe, gazing down from a cliff upon his parched, emaciated subjects, turns two turbines, and water gushes…

This is spot on and something I try to explain to people outside of scholarly publishing all the time.

Critical to promoting trust in science is setting realistic expectations for peer review and following transparent standards for publishing article updates and retractions as necessary.
“It’s never going to be perfect.” - that’s never been the point of #peerreview or the scientific enterprise generally - science should NOT be perfect - by definition that’s not how it works.

📚 Let's be honest—the Journal Impact Factor (JIF) is far from perfect.

It's overly reliant on citations, and doesn't always reflect the true value of a journal's contributions.

So, how can journal editors go beyond the JIF to better assess and communicate their publication's impact? Quick 🧵
