Conference season coming up! My 1st paper at
@auspsa.bsky.social (with @pandanuspetter.bsky.social and
@thiagonsilva.bsky.social) will look at who takes the spotlight in #auspol Question Time. Is QT becoming more personalised?

At the my kids’ school Senior Production. Came with a warning about “adult themes”….
Yep, two characters are competing for tenure! Couldn’t get more adult than that!

Story today about unis relying on Turnitin to detect AI. My research last year (@ausjpa.bsky.social) where students were required to use ChatGPT to produce policy briefs showed that Turnitin produced a lot of false negatives:

With all of this news of AI slop from Deloitte, it’s worth remembering that in this study, even my undergrads could see how poorly AI produced policy advice @ausjpa.bsky.social

This dual framing is really important, because it also reflects how Jews are both white and not-white; promoters of communism and evil bankers.
Happy to share my first published article based on my PhD in Party Politics with @journals.sagepub.com in open access!

Hi hive-mind. I'm looking for info on who owns letters sent by public to Aus MPs in their *legislative* capacity (i.e. excluding ministerial capacity)? My understanding is that they own them in their personal capacity? @auspublawblog.bsky.social @jeremygans.bsky.social

As usually AI search results (from Bing) are really awful! I was hoping to attend the first @jawspolisci.bsky.social seminar, so needed to check the time in Australia. Unfortunately Bing was out by 8hrs?? It 1pm Eastern is 3am in Syd/Canberra.

Just giving this package another plug. I think I'm using it (or stuff derived from it) for about 4 different papers at the moment.
We don't give enough credit to the academics developing/maintaining this crucial research infrastructure.
You heard it people. It’s a wonderful package.

The possibilities are limited only by your imagination (in the context of comprehensive data on Australian parliamentarians since federation)
