Conference season coming up! My 1st paper at
@auspsa.bsky.social (with @pandanuspetter.bsky.social and
@thiagonsilva.bsky.social) will look at who takes the spotlight in #auspol Question Time. Is QT becoming more personalised?

Story today about unis relying on Turnitin to detect AI. My research last year (@ausjpa.bsky.social) where students were required to use ChatGPT to produce policy briefs showed that Turnitin produced a lot of false negatives:

As usually AI search results (from Bing) are really awful! I was hoping to attend the first @jawspolisci.bsky.social seminar, so needed to check the time in Australia. Unfortunately Bing was out by 8hrs?? It 1pm Eastern is 3am in Syd/Canberra.

My new piece @E_IR, exploring why ALP MPs are strategically ignoring Trump. Are they caught between being responsive to their electorate and knowing they need to maintain the US alliance?
I draw on canberrainbox.com.au to test this.

The Guardian piece unfortunately doesn't say what the GPs posted. But Do you think Jewish patients are safe if a doctor posts they would "support Adolf Hitler if he was around today"? Or what about this from another NHS doctor. Would I be safe if she was operating on me?

Great that @squigglyrick.bsky.social's Mean Streak is shortlisted for PM's Book Awards. He mentions the APS's failure to learn, drawing on my research (doi.org/10.1080/1350...). I've got an upcoming webinar where we discuss 'where to from here', after Robodebt more info: tinyurl.com/yndcybhb

Just finished this. Amazing book, amazing story. Reconfirms my pride as a Jew and as a Zionist. Great insights into the Israeli psyche, which helps to understand the current conflict.

OMG Canvas online chat help is truly disastrous. I can see that the agents are literally using ChatGPT to help me. Do they receive any actual training?

cross sworn... so the Home Affairs minister will ALSO be the Defence Minister (i.e. sworn to administer) and the Attorney General (ie. sworn to adminster). And similarly the AG will also be sworn for Home Affairs and Defence? What an integrity/transparency mess!!!

On #730 they declared that the Greens only lost QLD seats because of pref flows, claiming their primary vote was stable… Um, they lost 1.5% - that’s more than 1/10 of their voters!! This is a failure by @QldGreens just as much as the LNP
