Stopped into the bookstore today and saved $1.75 by only getting a medium coffee abd then I spent that extra $97.42 on books instead

One of the more depressing obviously true things I’ve read lately.

This is great! Watch it, then support the next one.
Yes! The short film written BEFORE THE PANDEMIC with the school's writers room is now up on YouTube. It was shot after Covid, and a new wave of actors and assistant film-makers got stuck in. Made for peanuts by great people who loved bringing the kids' story to life.

Ali is correct. I got all excited that the site appeared to be up, and did exactly what the email said not to.
I think the email sent said it would do this , and not to worry. It's so frustrating though isn't it? 😔

Currently glued to the #lakeland100 tracker. One of my clubmates is on pace for the women’s’ course record, another good friend is chasing the cut-offs, and between them will be found the cause of my imminent death from heart failure.

An email from the theatre I attended last night, seeking to understand my motives for coming and how I heard about the play. I wrote it.

About two thousand people await decisions on their DYCP applications, decisions due yesterday. Plenty more have scrambled to submit applications before their summer holiday, but find they can't. I don't envy those at Arts Council towers today.
Update on our application portal Grantium:

We are currently experiencing technical issues with our application portal, Grantium, which means users have not been able to access the system since the evening of 23 July. We are doing everything we can to fix this.

“I figured I might as well continue kicking that kid because after all loads of other people were.”
There's a type of person who argues there's no point stopping selling plane parts to Israel as they would only get them elsewhere, or the government can't condemn Israeli genocide as it would make no difference, and it's amazing to me that they have never before encountered the concept of "morality"

This week I've been to the theatre more times than the rest of the year combined, unless you count occasions when I was the theatre. On this week's showing I'd recommend theatre, which seems to have plenty going for it.

Only a couple of days to go until I bring #ImaginaryFriends to @oldwoollen.bsky.social in Farsley, Leeds. Want to know a bit more about what to expect? Here's an excerpt from the very beginning of the show...

You’ve missed it now, unless you live in West Yorkshire.
In London this weekend? There are still a couple of chances to see #ImaginaryFriends at @sohotheatre.bsky.social. Come along tonight or tomorrow (Fri 23 - Sat 24 May), I'd love to see you.

A lovely, and obviously true, thread. The elements of life that the AI weirdos see as inconveniences to be eradicated - the details, the small efforts, the interactions in which we get to notice each other - are in fact more often than not the the very point of life itself.
On outsourcing the planning of your kid’s birthday party to ChatGPT: last year, my brother got married. The night before, I was hanging out with my niece (we were making a garden) while my Mam, my sister and my sister in law sorted out the flowers, ties and pocket squares into packs for each person.

This lovely review of Imaginary Friends came out two months ago and I just learned of it. Not everyone wants their work described as “scouring” but I’ll take it, and I’ll certainly take “a privilege to experience”.

It’s @sohotheatre.bsky.social this week. ayoungishperspective.co.uk/2025/03/16/r...
