I *think* I got everyone who answered my initial request, but I could add more. Give me your permission, let me know the last show/project you did and where it was in the Greater Houston area, and I'll ad you to the list! Thanks. go.bsky.app/3xLtevE
With people being welcomed again to Derry and Texas Renaissance Festival going on, I figured now was a fun time to share this photo from 2019.

I’ve been looking at lists for Best Comedy Christmas Songs and clearly not enough people know about ‘Chiron Beta Prime’ by Jonathan Coulton.

I love me a work catered lunch, but man, I am not ready for the holidays.

I am, however, ready for a nap.

A scoop that I’m not happy to report:

CBS News has gutted its climate change reporting team, one of the best in the business, and one of the only ones on cable news that consistently called out fossil fuels as the main source of climate pollution.

David Ellison, the new pro-Trump chief executive of Paramount Skydance, has dismantled the best climate change reporting team in cable news.

Not sure who needs to hear this, but the opposite of boneless chicken isn’t boner chicken, it’s bone in. I know bone-in chicken sounds just as bad but I don’t make the rules.

My earworms today have been equal parts ‘The Simpsons’ theme and ‘Martha My Dear’ by the Beatles.

Going not so quietly mad.

At least when the bad guys in INDEPENDENCE DAY destroyed the White House, they gave us the courtesy of not adding a gaudy ballroom to host their evil extraterrestrial buddies.

Q: What is Trump’s plan for antifa?

A: He will create the organization, and then destroy it.

Five decades now.

As an official Old Person™️, I just wanted to say I’m still pissed about the Library at Alexandria.

Back in the 90s at @uh.edu, my friends and I had a sci-fi comedy TV show going out to the dorms. Our version of Weyland-Yutani was McTimeWarner. I guess we weren’t far off. If this deal goes through I plan to call the new conglomerate “Mt. SkyWarner”.

I am almost finished with the third season of @startrek Strange New Worlds and what I’ve discovered (please understand I mean this in the happiest and most enthusiastic way possible) is that SNW is TOS if every fifth episode is “The Trouble With Tribbles.”

2025 is weird if you were born in 1975. Lots of people turn 50, but you would think the perspective of living almost equally in the 20th & 21st Centuries would bring some sort of wisdom. It doesn’t. I can’t make sense of any of it. All I can say is we should be on a different, much better path.

We can learn a lot about the world we live in watching STAR TREK. But some important lessons are about the future, such as:
• things get A LOT WORSE before they get better, but
• we survive, unite, and explore the galaxy,
• and, sadly, human entertainment peaks in the 20th Century.

Finishing up Carl Sagan’s THE DEMON-HAUNTED WORLD (1996). 30 years later, there’s still not enough real science on TV, but his comments re: THE X-FILES turned out kinda wrong when you consider “The Scully Effect.” A whole generation of women studied to be scientists because of Gillian Anderson.
