Here's the truth.

You can't stand with trans people and take a gig with Rowling. It is impossible. You can make donations, you can issue statements of support, but at the end of the day you are choosing to work with the single most prominent transphobe who uses her money and platform to harm us.
I hear you, and I understand why this is painful for many. I want to be clear that I stand with trans people, and I support trans rights - fully and without hesitation. "When I accepted this role, I did so as someone who has always loved the stories and what they meant to so many - especially those who found comfort and identity in that world," she wrote. "I now understand more clearly how deeply omplicated and hurtful this association can feel, and I take that seriously. Being an ally eans listening even when it`s uncomfortable and taking accountability where it's needed. I'm committed to doing both."

Reminder that “death of the author” to justify consuming certain media in an ethical way does not work when that author is alive and well, rich, and using their platform to spread nothing but hate.
JKR is in fact not dead, she uses all the resources available to her to actively harm trans people.

Today's Halloween Costume review: “Sexy Moth.” The wing venation indicates a female Polyphemus moth. Antennae are plumose, which is correct for this species. There should be more fur on the abdomen, though. Pants are optional for moths.
