This is still the thing that scares me most right now. Generally, I think the National Guard would actually be less violent and abusive than what we’re seeing from ICE and CBP. But Hegseth and his underlings would be hand-picking these teams.

Here's a photo of my friend and colleague, Jorge Bautista, getting shot in the face with a flashbang grenade. The ICE Agent is so afraid of Jorge (who was posing no threat) that he has wet himself. Please share this photo. Everyone needs to know what cowards ICE agents are.

Trump nominated a pro Jim Crow man to be the U.S. ambassador to South Africa.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. So, I transcribed some of it.
Brent Bozell is a sad excuse for a man. He should be shunned by everyone. No one should ever serve him a meal or a drink, fix his car, or mow his lawn.

Trump: "By the way, a friend of mine called us the other day and he said 'I'd like to contribute any shortfall you have because of the Democrat shutdown. I'd like to contribute any shortfall you have with the military.' Today, he sent us a check for $130 million. It's gonna go the military."

Democrats should be drawing up legislation right now, this very minute, to bar Trump from helping himself to $230 million in taxpayer funds from DOJ. Challenge Republicans to hold a vote on it. Push this so hard in the media that every GOP Senate and House candidate is pressed to comment on it.

Is there anyone out there who cares enough for this person to look into arrangements for a conservatorship?
Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?
TRUMP: Suspending who?
Q: Habeas corpus
TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

The fact that he knows he's not supposed to be just saying it out loud like that because it's not true and he didn't mean to telegraph their intentions that clearly

This is interesting: Per a new @nytimes.com poll, 50% of registered voters in the U.S. oppose Trump's decision to deploy the National Guard in D.C. (And 41% support.) Opposition among Black voters is 80%, and Hispanic voters 58%. Women and younger voters also more likely to oppose.

WOW. The lead plaintiff is a Latino man who's been here legally for 24 years. He was grabbed off the street by plainclothes federal agents who didn't even ASK about his status.
He was detained overnight and only released once a supervisor realized he had been illegally arrested.

@repmarcykaptur.bsky.social voting against the people of DC hits hard. Marcy, I grew up in Toledo & looked up to you. I interned in your DC office 30 years ago & I still have my signed picture with you on a shelf in my office. You’ve betrayed me and the 700,000 Americans who live in DC. For what?
Today Rep. Jared Golden, Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, @goodlander.house.gov @repmarcykaptur.bsky.social Rep. Bill Keating, @susielee.house.gov and Rep. Stephen Lynch chose Trump's agenda of detention rather than the people of DC.
