Slugs tend not to get much love compared to the likes of butterflies, birds, or flowers.

But maybe this gorgeously patterned leopard slug I met on the rainforest floor might help change that, just a bit?

And remember: everything in nature is there for a reason, playing a part in the ecosystem.

From what we've been told - its not a fish kill- its an everything kill for over 40 miles of river.
Insects, birds, mammals also impacted.
This should, by now, be a serious criminal matter.

Top of my list of missing native species we should be looking at reintroducing to Ireland?

Lynx!!

• Never attack people
• Rarely attack livestock
• Aren't pack animals
• Help regulate deer
• Help regulate smaller predators, like fox
• Are a huge tourist draw
• Are just GORGEOUS!!
Happy #InternationalLynxDay 🐾

Today we’re celebrating the Eurasian lynx. This shy and elusive wild cat went extinct in Britain 1300 years ago, but now there’s hope for their return.

What utter nonsense. If you’re gonna make up a number, why bother?!?!

Everyone knows that there are 1000s of empty houses across Ireland.
Nearly 800 houses are lying vacant in the State for over a year, according to data
Dublin accounts for 27% of all the derelict properties.

Pioneer tree species like Birch are spreading out from this Ancient Remnant Old Oak Woodland on the Great Sugar Loaf, Co Wicklow. This is incredibly rare habitat that should naturally cover most of the country. We need to restore, re-establish & reconnect these precious remnants #RestoreNature

In 1862, a Union soldier found cigars wrapped in a piece of paper in a field of clover. The paper was a copy of Confederate Gen. Lee's invasion orders. The Southern sloppiness helped the Union stop Lee at Antietam.
It's unknown who lost the orders in the field, or if he was related to Pete Hegseth.

We don't have a housing crisis, we have a capitalism crisis.

Portumna for example has 3 houses available for rent, but 177 available for Airbnb.

"Wolf packs have become a real danger, especially for livestock."

Fatal wolf attacks in Europe are so rare its hard to even find reliable records.

Horse and Pony related deaths account for ~20-50 deaths per year across the EU.

But when Wolves kill Ursula's pony they are a real danger.
In some European regions, wolf packs have become a real danger especially for livestock.

Today, we are proposing a change of EU law that will help local authorities to actively manage wolf populations while protecting both biodiversity and our rural livelihoods.

This is Winston Churchill visiting the White House during World War II.

Funny how he isn’t wearing a suit either. Almost like he was a wartime leader defending his country from being slaughtered and wiped out by an authoritarian aggressor.

At first glance, a quintessentially beautiful Irish landscape.

But in reality, it's a deadzone. The graveyard of a once species-rich Atlantic rainforest wonderland, smothered under sheep and, in the distance, sitka.

We are, however, waking to just how much has been stolen from us.
