Elon Musk embodies the power of the unelected oligarch, leveraging wealth to influence policy and governance. His appointment in the Trump administration highlights the dangerous fusion of corporate interests and political power, bypassing democratic accountability.

Independent media must cling tightly to the concept of reporting with verifiable FACTS, & CLEARLY distinguishing that from opinion.
News writers should also draft their own headlines.

Norms are good. Pressure works. We need to protect norms. This feels like a small victory but every victory is in fact a victory.

You have lost viewers, nobody wants to watch you anymore because there is no trust. Instead of bashing a loving father for protecting his son how about covering the insanity of this country is facing and stop normalizing it.

I can't bring myself to be even a little mad about Biden pardoning Hunter. The values and norms he'd been trying to uphold were obliterated by American voters last month. Why sacrifice your son to a dead god?

Increasingly I think that Trump is focused on his own…comfort. He’s aware of his inadequacies. It’s why he’s uncomfortable around military generals and war heroes. These picks are so profoundly unfit, so deeply lacking in sound character, I think it makes Trump feel comfortable with himself.
Even with so many appointees already under fire, Trump has doubled down on defiance. Rather than turning to more credentialed and respected choices, he keeps naming more ideological warriors, conspiracy theorists and even family members to senior posts. www.nytimes.com/2024/12/02/u...

Can someone explain to me why fighting for policies championed 80 years ago by one of the most popular Presidents in our nation’s history make me a “progressive?” Also, pretty sure these are supported by a super majority of voters. Does that mean everyone else should be called regressives?

I gave the picture to Google Lens which returned to me plenty of articles that had similar looking photos in them. After numerous times of carefully changing the focus of Google Lens to different sections of the photo, I finally landed on an article that seemed to have a photo of the same field.
