I’m so saddened to hear of Faith’s death. I’m absolutely shocked and devastated. She was such a wonderful person and fearless fighter for Coloradans. ❤️

Here’s what should have happened—Steven Spielberg directs Jurassic Park and James Cameron directs The Lost World.
James Cameron reveals he almost directed ‘JURASSIC PARK’ before Steven Spielberg took the job.

“He was the right guy to make it. Not me, because I would have made it too terrifying and R-rated. It would have been Aliens with dinosaurs”

As I think more about the design of the creature in Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein, I keep thinking about this quote from Mary Shelley; Victor’s initial reaction to the living creation.

“His limbs were in proportion, and I had selected his features as beautiful. Beautiful! —Great God!”

As a lover of literature, I adored Ian McEwan’s What We Can Know.

As someone who could perchance call themselves a historian (on a good day), I am definitely going to have an existential crisis thanks to this.

And finally, the nature of Portugal. There were peacocks at São Jorge Castle next to olive trees hundreds of years old whose bark had become almost stone like. Fiddler crabs, seaweed, and clams on the beaches of Sintra and hibiscus at botanical gardens.

The details of Portugal. From tiles scattered around the cobblestone streets of Lisbon to the glint of freshly poured Port to a pair of smiles from newlyweds celebrating life, Portugal offered everything one could hope for in a vibrant, destination expedition.

The grandeur of Portugal. From the vast expanse of the North Atlantic to the Medieval cityscapes of Porto and the terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley. For a country the size of Maine, everything in and surrounding Portugal can seem unimaginably grand.

To me, he was just “Uncle Bob.” Some of my earliest childhood memories are all thanks to Robert Redford. Thanksgiving at the A-frame or holed away in the Mouse House, Pete’s Dragon on VHS, everything that you could hope for at Sundance.

I’m incredibly lucky to live in a state where journalists like @kylec.bsky.social choose not to normalize the abnormal and the authoritarian.
A US President threatening to use the military against civilians in an American city is not normal and journalists who choose to ignore or normalize this should explain their choice to the communities they serve.
