There is evidence that early Levites weren’t a caste but a profession that over time became a caste.

Lots of Kohanim and Levites adopt surnames that reflect their status but not all Cohens are Kohen and many Kohen and Levi don’t have a marked surname.

Those mostly apply to Kohen who can’t go to cemeteries except for close relatives.

They can still do the priestly blessing and the first two Torah readings are reserved for Kohen and Levi respectively.

Other than that they are mostly just regular guys doing regular stuff.

Levite and Kohen status is still passed down through the father and there are still Levites and Kohanim. There isn’t a Temple so they don’t have any particular duties but they are still expected to follow some of the extra purity taboos.

To add a little more detail. After the Babylonian exile Jews didn’t identify by tribal affiliation. Instead the only tribe that remained separate was Levi. The Kohanim are a sub group of Levi.
