Today at Fort Bragg, Trump crossed a new and dangerous line.

He got troops behind him at this speech to boo the media and his political enemies including Gov Newsom and Joe Biden.

This is the most unacceptable and egregious politicization of our troops we’ve ever seen.

This was the plan the entire time and it was always going to be targeted towards Democratic run cities. It’s not about law and order. It’s about controlling by force the areas where Trump does not control by ideology.
Sources said that even at the start of his second term, Trump was discussing with multiple advisers where & when it would make sense to send in federal troops, either for supposed crime control or in response to larger-scale public activism against his agenda.

Everyone should look on the bright side: We have no idea if Trump will send Seal Team Six after Gov. Newsom. But at least we know that, if Trump did it, he’d be immune from criminal prosecution for doing it.

“The logic of revolution often traps revolutionaries: They start out thinking that the task will be swift and easy," @anneapplebaum.bsky.social writes. But "at each obstacle, after each catastrophe, the turn to violence becomes that much swifter, the harsh decisions that much easier."
This Is What Trump Does When His Revolution Sputters
His military deployment in Los Angeles follows a long, disturbing tradition.

This budget proposal if passed will devastate the US leadership in science, engineering and medicine. The public needs to speak up. 🧪
How bad will it be? Catastrophic.

Proposed cuts to #NSF, #NIH, and #NASA will set the US R&D landscape back 25 yrs+, cause economic and job loss now, and undermine innovations to come.

But, this is the WH's *proposed* budget.

Speak up now before it is too late.
