If you have a non-profit movie theater, film festival, archive or other institution that you admire, frequent or just want to see exist, now would be a good time to donate to them. The gutting of the NEA funding makes things only more precarious for these orgs, many of who already struggle.

This Saturday is Independent Bookstore Day, a tradition that has happened every April for 12 years. For the first time, Amazon is hosting Amazon Book Sale on the same day which is a cowardly, calculated move to hurt indie book stores. Don’t let them win. Support an indie book store on Saturday.

Wherever possible please buy your books directly from authors and/or publishers. Even ebooks (then Amazon can't delete them either). We make a better cut and you get the same thing or better, plus Bezos and ilk don't get richer. Win win win.

The answer to whether Biden's presidency will be considered a failure or if history will pass a kinder judgment is that it absolutely does not matter and you need to get out of the loser mindset of things like being vindicated by "history." Politics is about power and outcomes. It's not a TV show.
