Congress can stop ICE. Congress can block the use of force in Greenland. In other words, in this crisis, Congress can act to support civil liberties at home and free nations abroad. To fail to act would be to be complicit in a dreadful outcome.

Four GOP Senators.

At most four Repubs in the House.

Together they could stop nearly all the mad-king's rampages. They would be known to history as Profiles in Courage. They might/would lose the next election. But people have sacrificed a lot more, for a lot less.
I can't repeat this enough.
I've said this before and I'll say it again.
It would only take a tiny handful of Republican Congress members or senators to stop the slide of America toward authoritarian fascism, but nope. They're all in.

Renee Nicole Good’s life mattered just as much as anyone else’s in this country. No matter how hard Trump’s government attacks us for resisting injustice, we will NEVER stand down.

Correct.

Dems/patriots should be straight-up committed to abolishing ICE.

We must never again have masked, armed, untrained, unscreened, embittered rogue agents patrolling our streets, destroying civil order rather than trying to maintain it.

Empowered by 'Kavanaugh stop' and 'Roberts waiver.'
ICE must be abolished. It has become a lawless, rogue agency. Federal law enforcement agencies must follow the law, if they're going to have any credibility enforcing it.

We are demanding justice for Renee Good and the prosecution of ICE agent Jonathan Ross for her murder.

AOC: What we saw today was a criminal murder a woman while she was trying to flee for her life. What we saw today was a manifestation of every American’s worst nightmare: their government turning into a tyranny.

I missed this dispatch earlier. Details on the companies that should live in shame for their role in rushed destruction of White House East Wing.

Remember them, and their "leaders."

Main point: read the @birddroneone.bsky.social thread.
The East Wing Desecrators

Given the extraordinary and unprecedented destruction of the entire East Wing, built in 1942 for the Office of the First Lady, it’s important to note who enabled this.

In this thread, I run through the companies and organizations involved and provide contact info.

A 14-word replacement for most op-eds, substacks, etc about this moment.

The GOP could stop ALL of this, right now—if a handful of Sens or Reps could step outside the cult.

It would take four in the Senate, four (maybe five) in the House, to change history.

Until then, they're all to blame.

The Jane Goodall Institute threatened to sue Gary Larson over this cartoon.

Goodall told them not to be so stupid, sold it on a tshirt, and wrote the introduction to The Far Side Gallery 5. Absolute legend.

The President of the United States is threatening to go to war with an American city.

This is not a joke. This is not normal.

Donald Trump isn't a strongman, he's a scared man. Illinois won’t be intimidated by a wannabe dictator.

My annual fanboy post for Women's History Month:
Babe Didrickson Zahariaus is one of my heroes, and the greatest athlete of the 20th century. She excelled in basketball, baseball, track & field (winning a team championship despite being the only player), and golf - one of the founders of the LPGA.

Most people know Walter Mosley as the author of the Easy Rawlins series, which is also great to read. I've read about half, and still working my way through the years, but LT is still my favorite.

My lovely wife got a copy of Red Side Story by Jasper Fforde the other day. But we are going to re-read (or listen to) Shades of Grey first. Great book, and not to be confused with the suburban porn series of a similar title....
