Alright, so I've been afraid to say this out loud, but I think after today, I can say it: In the first Battle of Los Angeles, the good people of LA County have prevailed. We beat ICE back. 1/

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

The Framers foresaw this problem and figured legislators' ambition, self-preservation, and self-respect would drive them to act against a tyrant.

The Framers didn't expect a majority of Congress would be cowards and fools who cheered it like pigs celebrating the arrival of the butcher.

Excerpt from a recent Amazon review of my book Elegant People: A History of the Band Weather Report:
"I have to admit that his song and album descriptions were more enjoyable in some cases, than listening to the songs themselves." I guess I'll take that as a compliment. 🙂

To be fair, this was probably the first time Donald Trump was exposed to a pastor preaching from the Sermon on the Mount. But JD Vance's obvious discomfort at hearing about one of the fundemental teachings of his religion (Catholicism) is a bit disturbing.
This guy won the popular vote. That’s why I say America deserves everything we get.

I may have missed it, but I didn't hear Trump say anything about reducing the price of eggs. The media told us 24-7 before the election that this is what real people cared about.

Trump just literally eliminated an Executive Order to reduce the price of prescription drugs. They are ripping you off, personally. They never gave a shit about the price of anything.

Here are some Bay Area Sports accounts to follow. Some are pretty active here, like Andrew Baggerly; others not at all (yet). But for me there's enough critical mass to eliminate a big reason I was going back to the other site. #49ers #warriors #DubNation #SFGiants #SFGBskyFam

In all my years on social media, the smashed potato recipe from @darthbluesky.bsky.social has added the most value.
the smosh potato is less of a recipe and more of a technique for getting a potato with a creamy center and cronchy edges
there are many ways to make these such as boiling and pan frying or roasting and deep frying but here is one that uses just one cookie sheet and a ziploc bag for minimal cleanup

Police in South Carolina are on the hunt for 43 rhesus monkeys that escaped from a research facility on Wednesday.

The “skittish” animals have been wandering the Yemassee area for about a day, according to a Thursday press release from the Yemassee Police Department.
