The only thing that I see happening in this scenario is that the share of people who strictly only play f2p titles will increase while the small share of people who buy multiple games per year will shrink further.
AAA video games should cost $100 on launch. this would still be extremely cheap for the amount of time and enjoyment you get out of them! But an audience of whiny babies has kept them literally at the same price for *two decades* despite both general inflation *and* sector-specific costs rising

People can debate if decisions are "necessary" or not, in good or bad faith, as much as they like. But this sort of incompetence in executing something so delicate is disgraceful, and that's not up for discussion.

BREAKING: A few minutes ago, a vehicle of three people was rammed by a truck belonging to federal immigration authorities in Boyle Heights, CA. According to security footage shown to me, they deployed chemical munitions & detained the driver at gunpoint. All are US citizens according to the wife.
