I was able to still do this as of today. Whew! If you forgot, now's a good time to log into your LinkedIn and turn this setting off, if you haven't yet.
Last chance to turn it off.

On Monday, November 3rd, Microsoft will start using your LinkedIn data for AI training. And remember, you're opted in by default.

An amazing thread of advice for artists. Giving me a lot to chew on.
I was talking to a younger local artist who's having trouble figuring out specifically what he wants to do, and you know, it got me thinking about what a dadgummed boon it is to have a very specific lane down which you intend to travel. 1/

Parents, please check your kids’ candy this Halloween. I’ve just found an ancient metal whistle with the inscription “QUIS EST ISTE QUI VENIT" inside a Snickers bar. I blew it and heard a note of infinite distance, and now I’m haunted by a figure in pale, fluttering draperies. Be safe.

@kickstarter.com is such a cool business as it helps creators fulfill their dreams. I can't imagine the TTRPG scene without them

Like every business, its success is built on the backs of its workforce - @kickstarterunited.org. These people keep the company running, and they need our support.

wikipedia's data shows that AI is siphoning traffic away from the site, which is a danger to its sustainability. ironically Wikipedia is more important than ever to users who want reliable information instead of slop, and to AI companies that need it for training data www.404media.co/wikipedia-sa...
Wikipedia Says AI Is Causing a Dangerous Decline in Human Visitors
“With fewer visits to Wikipedia, fewer volunteers may grow and enrich the content, and fewer individual donors may support this work.”

Today I received two pieces of mail from folks who appreciate my artwork and it is like I’m riding high on a kite. Sometimes all I need is a little bit of validation to keep the darkness at bay.
Thank you everyone who helps boost and support me and my artworks. 🌱

If I controlled an animation studio- any animation studio- I would jump both feet forth. Alas- for good or bd- I do not.
Genndy Tartakovsky shared test footage from his film ‘The Black Knight’. It follows a knight who controls a 20ft suit of armor. Sony isn't sure there's an audience for the film and haven’t greenlit it yet.

After Kpop demon hunters success I don't understand why Sony are dragging their feet on this!

I think this is a fine idea!
So, I noticed a new evolution in the way comics are displayed in book stores today. I found a shop that placed comics in the comics section, but also on a single shelf at the end of each genre section. So if you are browsing fantasy, the books beyond Z are all fantasy comics.

Freelance illustration gigs drying up. Ad agencies using Midjourney instead of hiring human artists. Costume design turned over to AI wholesale. Good work vanishing.

These are the stories of working visual artists, who describe losing jobs, wages, and hope as their clients and bosses embrace AI.

This doesn’t mean it’s easy, but I’ve been feeling strongly about this. I think Patreon can make you think it’s something inescapable when lots of people are running their own membership sites or newsletters. And have for a long time. I strongly want Patreon to work for artists, not the reverse.
Hey y'know this is why it's great to have things like my members website. Which is an independently hosted way for me to catalogue my work just in case this ever happened. Y'know, just in case.
