Losing the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) would be an act of monumental neglect.

I made a video about what’s at risk, and how orgs like @amlibraryassoc.bsky.social and the American Alliance of Museums need us to help advocate for these critical places.

1/ This is a scary & important message!

Public lands have been described as America’s “best idea.” They are natural sanctuaries, sources of generational inspiration & for some, ancestral homelands.

Banning freckles? I believe that kids need to explore the world through books. Books like Julianne Moore’s Freckleface Strawberry help kids with freckles feel good about themselves. Kids deal with bullying, and it scars them for a lifetime! Please just let kids be kids!

Trump's attacks on the USPS aren't new.

For decades, the GOP has been trying to privatize the Post Office and other crucial public services — all to pad the profits of their wealthy corporate donors.

Remote work doesn't thwart productivity. It boosts focus.

Government workers are 12% more productive when randomly assigned to work from home. They're more efficient where it's quiet.

Most people aren't shirking from home. They're escaping distractions and long commutes.

I really can't believe I have to write this, but the judiciary is an entirely separate, independent, unrelated branch of government. Neither the President, nor OPM, nor Elon Musk, nor any of the Musk minions, has any authority of any kind to order any of them to do anything.

My wife and I were vaccinated with MMR (measles, mumps, rubella vaccine) as children. Those vaccines saved millions of lives.

We just were tested to see if our immunity is still good. Hers is low or gone, so a booster is needed. Get checked and boosted, if necessary.

VACCINES SAVE LIVES

Vaccines ended the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vaccines and other public health measures save the lives of millions of children worldwide.

Do not let RFKJr and the Trump admin take us back to a time when 5 in 10 children died before the age of 5.

Infectious diseases killed Victorian children at alarming rates — their novels highlight the fragility of public health today
Between 40% and 50% of children didn’t live past 5 in the US during the 19th century. Popular authors like Charles Dickens documented the common but no less gutting grief of losing a child.
