Sheffield. Mostly dogs. A little food. Not so much booze despite the profile pic.

Owner of Sheffield Pet Care - can I help you with your dog?
Football people... do fixtures change?! I have plans in Hillsborough this Saturday and checked fixtures before I booked anything and now Wednesday are playing... what????

Making America great again... one light bulb at a time.

The DEI ban is one (awful and nonsensical) thing, but removing all women in stem from government websites under DEI ban. What?

Also women make up 50.5% of the US population. They shouldn't even need any help under a diversity programme. They are not diverse.

Imagine if someone suddenly decided they wanted to make Yorkshire a holiday resort. 😤

After two days of driving about in the snow I have some advice...

For those of you who can't drive in the snow, don't drive in the snow.

For everyone else, get winter tyres!!

A front wheel drive car with winter tyres will perform better in snow than a 4x4 with normal tyres.

Why is the BBC leading with a story about Elon Musk's opinion of the Reform Party?

A nobody person remarking on a nobody party. Stop giving these people airtime!!

People freaking out about the snow and panicking about getting to work tomorrow but obviously not bothering to check the weather forecast.

Which tells us it's going to rain overnight.

🙄

If you suddenly found yourself in possession of about £150... and you didn't NEED anything, but you wanted to spend it wisely on a little piece of LUXURY to make your life a little easier/ nicer... what would you spend it on?

I know BMI is bullshit but today I checked my ideal weight for my height and, apparently, it's 55kg. I've only been at this weight once in my adult life and I was basically doing ALL the cardio and very skinny. Ie... no muscle. How can that be achievable, sustainable or healthy?

We got there! Christmas is done. 😊
December 25, 2024 at 8:13 PM
Christmas breakfast, starter and main. Will we make it to dessert and cheese? I've had the Christmas pudding and panettone in the cupboard since, at least, last Christmas so it would be good if we could squeeze it in somewhere!!

It's unbelievable but we think about £230 million a year goes unclaimed in Sheffield. It's what people are legally entitled to, ranging from #universalcredit to #FreeSchoolMeals.

Feeling smug as I've finally planted up all my spring bulbs and I can have an afternoon of lounging. 🤣

The patio is a mess but those tubs are filled with hope for a colourful spring. 😍

Desperate much?

The tree is going to have to wait a while this year! Pol is still settling in and I feel that a Christmas tree full of decorations would be too tempting for her... so I've sourced a mini one to go on top of our cabinet. Which means I need to move all my plants...😱 which they are not going to like!

Took Polly to The Old Workshop in Kelham Island and they made her a chicken dinner...🥹

Went to Bench last night. Food was excellent, as always. Particularly enjoyed the Dahl and the perfectly cooked roast potatoes. Didn't drink, which is a bit mad as they have very very good wine and cocktails. But did have L'Antidote which is a new favourite AF drink for me. Woke up feeling 👌👌

You’re not violating a reading rule if you opt not to finish a book that's not resonating with you. Life is finite and we thus have a finite number of books to read. Reading shouldn’t be a chore. You needn’t feel guilty for ensuring that your time reading is spent reading things that you love.
