The snakes were seen as lowest of the low, creatures of the earth and the evil that was seeped into it. On the flipside they were also believed to be able to repel malice and possess healing capabilities. The snake symbolises primal strength and vitality.

A kingfisher made from a circular saw blade, paint pen, and spray paint. I sketched it, Echo cut it out and added the copper eye, and I painted it. This was a gift, but we'd love to make more birds like this! What birds would you want to see?

Some more old art that I was so proud of in 2006 and don’t think it got the love it deserved/put in front of the correct audience: “Patterns in Nature”

The molecular structures are that of sugars found in honey (Maltose, Fructose, Glucose, Sucrose). I was studying honey bees at the time ☺️

Critically endangered (19,000 mature individuals, decreasing)

The population declines at a rate of about 14% per year. This bird doesn’t begin breeding until 4-6 years of age and as such, adult mortality is its biggest threat
