I’m realizing I don’t really have a pinned post when people first visit my profile. Here’s a response I gave on a thread in the meantime.
I’m Jenn, I’m based in Denver where I spark a love for science and nature in high school students through experiential learning. I’m an advocate for better understanding and coexistence with our fellow organisms on this planet. I usually express my admiration for nature through art and photography.
Cody was larger than life, but leaves an even larger void. He was a gentle soul who was deeply loved by his human.

Monty and Flash were two unique souls, who loved each other, their array of jammies, and their humans very much ❤️

This one of for @jimmyjimsjim.bsky.social and @boiler.bsky.social for their boys who loved to show off the volume of their voices to me ❤️

With 2025 coming to a close, I decided to do an Art vs Artist compilation for the year. It was hard to choose which pieces to include!

I can’t get over how ethereal and unreal these birds are. Certainly a goal bird to see with my own eyes someday!

Some more old art that I was so proud of in 2006 and don’t think it got the love it deserved/put in front of the correct audience: “Patterns in Nature”

The molecular structures are that of sugars found in honey (Maltose, Fructose, Glucose, Sucrose). I was studying honey bees at the time ☺️

A painting of an extant emu and three extinct emu subspecies for the cover of “Emu Today & Tomorrow” magazine to go with my friend Todd’s article in the issue. Done in 2013.

I had a lot of fun with this painting.

My favorite pairing of Christmas music and visuals. Not sure anything can top this for me.

New insta-cranky trigger unlocked for me: talking to an AI "assistant" for customer service and when it says "just a moment" it plays the sound of someone typing on a keyboard.

May seem silly, but it triggered a whole lot of "NO" neurons in my brain really fast.

Looking forward to picking up @jonathanslaght.com’s new tiger book when I have a breather after the semester. I adore and highly recommend his book Owl’s of the Eastern Ice!

Here is a Blakiston’s fish owl I illustrated for him when he was kind enough to talk with our Bird Nerd book club years ago.

Incredibly cool!!
Made a site comparing the sizes of living things :)

The great Julius Csotonyi spent 5 months painting over 60 illustrations for the site, no ai used

Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

I seem to have gained an influx of followers. Hello!!

Curious where/how you all found me…for my data curious brain.

Photo of me setting up ancient animal figures for a 3D phylogeny activity in my Paleo class, with my Chem (volumetric flasks) and Physics (speaker building) colleagues, for tax!

Going to try to get this going again.
I LOVE seeing people’s processes and concept art, so I thought I’d start a repost thing. Concept vs Finished. Do I make a hashtag? #conceptvsfinished

Let me see your stuff! And also, do people want to see more of my WIPs too?

Here is a piece I did for a place I frequent for science, in Iceland.

Happy World Falconry Day!

In 2016, UNESCO declared falconry an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Few things have connected me to such a vast network of people across centuries and cultures. I’m honored to take part in a tradition linking us to one another and to the wild creatures we love.

Some photos from the IEAA (International Eagle Austringer Association) “Gathering of Eagles” meet in Wyoming this past week. Birds include a golden eagle, dark morph Harlan’s/western intergrade red-tailed hawk, and a Harris’ hawk. Great people, great birds, and a great time!

My son’s Derpy costume looking rather like a tiger skin rug while I was working on it last weekend.

Happy Halloween!🎃

Whelp, found my answer. Tachnid (parasitic) flies. My son is really sad, but we took it as a chance to watch a video on the flies and what we can do next summer for more butterfly success. He acknowledges that the flies wanted babies too.

He’s now happily watching hamster maze videos.
