We've been doing pixel art for LCD screens since 1989! Flatscreen style pixel art is no less "authentic" to the aesthetic, it's just a different evolutionary pathway.

The thing about how "pixel art was designed for CRTs" always kind of annoys me because: Pokemon wasn't. Pokemon was released on the Game Boy, which used a liquid crystal display. Nobody ever seems to think to bring this up. Drives me mad!!!
