I used to read books like Lord of the Rings or watch movies like Star Wars and think the villains were unbelievable. And of course, now watching the tech oligarchs (who could not spend all their money if they tried) destroy civilization for power, I’m like, guess I was wrong. People are that awful.

Why is Danielle Smith financially helping Trump's red states by heaping a $1.2 BILLION (and rising) debt on the Albertan taxpayers? Most of these abandoned wells are US owned. Smith has cut them a break and dumped the burden onto Albertans in a perfect copy of Trump's save the rich blueprint.
The abandoned well fund is a program whose goal is to ensure that abandoned wells get safely cleaned up and dealt with when a company goes bankrupt. The oil companies pay into it, however, it has been extremely underfunded and many farmers can't sell their land. globalnews.ca/news/1119947...
