Armor is a lot of fun! Also you’ll learn a lot from squiring for friends (and hint: it’s almost identical to handling fursuiters).

Yeah I could see that. But just. Man. Ew

Oh yeah. Another saying in my guild is “armor is a process, not a product.” It requires regular maintenance and frequent tweaking. We don’t usually get to work closely with an armorer to fit our kit to our body, and if our body changes it throws all of that work too. Part of the fun, to me.

What I can’t understand is _wanting_ a blowjob from Trump, even 30 years ago.

I suppose. They are also fun to use at the range and in completion, and they are also sometimes needed to do harm in defense of self and others. Many of the attempts at regulation are superficial and ham-fisted, which is why they rankle so much. I wish we could do better

Which just means I need to go back and make another one with better measurements. It’s a learning process, both as a wearer and a maker.

Oh yeah if you’re smaller than the kit, that’s rough. I’m going to make a breastplate for a guild mate who is just smaller than the munitions grade stuff you can get. I made one for myself because I’m larger than all that kit, and I made some sizing errors sos it adds some limits it shouldn’t.

So stark though, and it sells the red flare beautifully!

100% agree. I mention it sort of obliquely in my ramble — the community needs to self police. Part of the problem is also that it’s very fragmented and a lot of folks don’t really act as part of a community. That ties in with some of the toxic hyper-individualism you see in the gun owner population.

I can imagine that would go over pretty well. And I think it would be faster and with fewer biohazard concerns….

Hey, Bar Association is one of my favorites.

At this point, sure. It was always spun as “making guns seem like a disease” but at this point I don’t think so. 538 had a good graphic out, culled from the sources that are available, and that’s pretty informative. Suicide is a pretty big one.

I’ve had good experiences with the McCormick & Schmick that’s just the other side of Balmoral, but like. It’s a steakhouse chain like the Gibson’s or the Morton’s or the Capital Grille that are all also in that area.

There’s a real food gap in Rosemont. Alas.
November 14, 2025 at 8:48 PM
Crust is one of my go tos in that area for “not too expensive, pretty tasty” with and added bonus o fit being far enough from the con to be a break from the mob.

Man I miss Five Roses. Way better for that spot than the seafood joint

Oh gods in-unit washer dryer is _technically_ a luxury but it’s so good. I get so much laundry done in the workday.

No amount of tax dodging will make south Florida into what they like about New York City, so why would they leave? Besides they have the wealth to just go to Florida or Texas or private islands when they feel the need. It’s weird that they don’t seem ti have the introspection to see this.

I haven’t carried daily since before I moved out of Virginia, because I was spending too much time in places I could not legally have it, so why bother? Better to train myself for what I _do_ get to have on me (brain & body).
November 14, 2025 at 4:58 PM
I am mmmmm. I used to carry daily. You can be responsible with that too. I have always found that I was more grounded and aware of my state of mind when carrying, because I could not afford to become angry. But I do not think everyone feels the weight of that responsibility.
November 14, 2025 at 4:55 PM
I can’t argue that point, I think the two things do go together. But I think we could solve that without making it harder on those of us who are being responsible, which is not how most of the proposals work.
