I am poor. I can't afford paywalls and too much time to dig out news. If only there were a Fox equiv for Colbert Maddow Kimmel etc that could saturate with real news & comment free to avg people. I miss broadcast tv & the Fairness Doctrine.

Sadness for the losses in the Ruidoso, NM flood.
3.5" rain in 90 min on burn scars from previous wildfires.
Climate change in action.

Been shutting down my MAGA friends with this one : Do you agree that the US Constitution is the law of the land, and do you agree that no one should be above the law?
Most times, they flatly refuse to answer and will deflect wildly.

Had another MAGA tell me I'm deluded, that DJT risked his life for us and doesn't want money because he's already rich, and I am disrespecting Jews by calling out concentration camps & ethnic cleansing. She used to be a good friend, and this is exhausting.

$1,201,923.08 per hour. If you work 40 hours per week for 40 years, that's what you have to make to have $100B. Considering a plumber or mechanic makes $35 and a doctor maybe $150, I don't know how anyone "earns" that kind of fortune.

If Dems attain a majority in the midterms I hope they will not squander it by squabbling over priorities. Preserving our Constitution and the rule of law is paramount. Holding the oathbreakers accountable is crucial. Nothing else will do any lasting good without those first.

Lots of folks upset about Medicare. I am most disturbed from the abdication of Congress, and SCOTUS' subversion of the US Constitution. This isn't the country I served to defend.

It's so weird and disorienting when I see a MAGA hat in the grocery store and they are acting so completely normal, picking out potatoes, except for their red display indicating they hate everything I stand for.

I’m somehow on a Heritage Foundation mailing list (😂) and they sent a survey to see what we think of DOGE.

Who wants to offer some m-fing feedback?!?

I have found that NPR frequently abridges their early morning radio commentary, often leaving the listener mislead compared to listeners later in the day. Anyone else notice this?

Correct. If the birthdate field contains corrupt or mismatched data, it defaults to 1875-05-20, which serves as a flag. May 20, 1875, is the day the international standards and metrics treaty was signed. Everything is a conspiracy when you don’t know how anything works.

I didn't watch the Super Bowl. I don't care about the half-time show. I don't care about Taylor Swift being there (but she's great!)
I do care about the $15M of govt waste involved, and the media fraud in representation of that visit.

@npr.org : why wouldn't a president abuse your Executive Unitarian idea?

"Expert": -gives ridiculous answer-

@npr.org : ok, ya'll can dig the counter-argument out online, we can't be bothered here now.

It's so strange going to work, taking my kid to the dentist, etc, while monitoring the fall of our nation. Reminds me of listening to the fall of the Twin Towers and destruction of national reason on the radio while everything else seemed normal. Complete insanity.

@npr.org it is 8:05 in Arizona. You informed us that Mexico agreed to put troops on the border - zero mention that they got a promise to limit US weapons into Mexico, zero mention that they already have troops there. So misleading! So disappointing!

I very much dislike having to take my phone into a concert. I hate not having a ticket stub. I hate not being able to buy a concert shirt with my couch money because of cashless venues.

I don't understand why not even one state has pushed section 3 of the 14th Amendment into court and forced the Supreme Court to rule on it.

My wife thinks the Pacific Palisades hydrants went dry because of DEI, and the fires are due to Cali sending money to Ukraine instead of managing their forest undergrowth. Somehow, I still love her. I live in the Twilight Zone.
