I keep saying this. CEOs will start pushing back when it becomes clear we plebs can no longer afford to be good little consumers. (Also, we should embrace anti-consumerism).
Around 70% of the U.S. economy depends on consumer spending. As wealth concentrates in the richest 10%, the rest of America can’t afford to buy enough to keep the economy running.

This is a huge problem — and even America’s most powerful CEOs are starting to sound the alarm.

Who wants to take a guess that the DOJ won't release the files because there's now an active investigation of Democrats (that the President requested)?
You might not have caught what just happened on the Senate floor, but the Senate just “deemed as passed” the Epstein resolution.

That means as soon as it arrives from the House, it automatically passes the Senate (with no amendments) and heads to the President’s desk.

Wow.

"Restrictions on free expression and debate can also stifle students’ intellectual curiosity, curb engagement and hinder critical-thinking development.

Equally concerning is the long-term impact on innovation."

College faculty are under pressure to say and do the right thing – the stress also trickles down to students
Faculty members say they are worried about job security but also whether they should be introducing certain topics, like gender, in their class or with colleagues.

Listen. Faculty and students at these institutions are behind these refusals. Faculty and students are organizing and pushing their admin against signing. The admin aren't resisting because they have moral courage. They're resisting because Faculty and students are resisting. Let the Faculty lead. ✊️

One of the people protesting at our local No Kings event last Saturday was wearing an old "Tea Party Politics" tee shirt. He said he was concerned with government overreach, both then and now, and was wearing the shirt to demonstrate this was a non-partisan issue.
Here's a gift link to the New York Times' coverage of the initial Tea Party rallies in April 2009 which inspired the media to treat it like a massive movement.

Check out how tiny the crowds were:

Philly: 200
DC: "several hundred"
Boston: 500
Austin: 1,000
Houston: 2,000

So harmful, and for what purpose?
The Trump administration has cancelled 4,304 deliveries to food banks so far this year, refusing to deliver 94 million pounds of contracted-for food. Food banks simply can’t feed people enough anymore. Millions of Americans are going hungry as a result.

Something our glorious Secretary of War does not seem to have considered is that the reason military PT and grooming standards, plus policies for EEO and abuse reporting, are the way they are is because they're necessary for recruitment and retention
